LANDS

Where the earth is alive

Terra Viva organic wines are the result of a unique interaction among land, ecosystem and winemaking. The organic growing methods used create a harmonious relationship between the beauty of the landscape and its functionality, which also extends to the surrounding environment. Terra Viva organic wines are the expression of a strong local winemaking tradition in regions Veneto, Friuli and Marche.

The grapes used for the production of our wines reflect a skilful management of the vineyard system as well as the complex balance among the vital energies of plants, microorganisms and insects respecting, of course, the specific characteristics of the different geographical areas.

THE REGIONS

Marche

The Terra Viva Marche Sangiovese IGT organic wine is produced from grapes originating from the district of Ripatransone and its neighbouring villages. Winegrowing is a longstanding tradition in this area located in the province of Ascoli Piceno.

A wide range of grape varieties is grown in region Marche and many of its vineyards boast vines that are over 100 years old. This distinctive feature is the result of a unique combination of tradition, art and the diversity of the landscape.

The soils are sedimentary, ranging from marine to typical clay continental, and are ideal for the cultivation of red grape varieties from which we make our Terra Viva Marche Sangiovese IGT.

Friuli - Venezia Giulia

The grapes used for the production of the Terra Viva Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC come from a border area between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The climate and the geological history of the soil in this area create an environment that is ideal for the cultivation of the Pinot Grigio.

The numerous vineyards from which the grapes for the Terra Viva Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC originate are all organically grown. Surrounded by a large expanse of woodland, rich in biodiversity, these vineyards are also used for wildlife repopulation.

The waters of the Tagliamento used to irrigate the vineyards, the breezy climate and the dry, gravelly soils, all contribute to the production of ripe and healthy grapes.

Veneto

The grapes used for the Terra Viva Prosecco DOC Frizzante and Prosecco Spumante DOC Extra Dry organic wines come from the Veneto, in the superb province of Treviso, a region with a long and celebrated winemaking tradition.

This part of the region is flat and the land is of alluvial origin. The organically-grown vineyards are located in the areas surrounding the regional capital. Here the neat and tidy Glera vines are irrigated by the clear waters of the Piave river.

The Glera from which Terra Viva Prosecco DOC Frizzante and Prosecco Spumante DOC Extra Dry are crafted is a native grape variety of north-eastern Italy. This white grape variety has a very long history and was already known in ancient Rome.
